I am beyond honoured, humbled, proud and beside myself excited to share that I have been selected as the 2025 Artist in Residence for the City of Kitchener, following in the footsteps of so many of my local art idols.
This year’s residency is a little different, as city staff and the Public Art Working Group (PAWG) specifically sought an artist to create a publication. My love of zines and the Waterloo region (especially its weird and dark spots) have inspired me to undertake the creation of a collaborative zine inspired by the local watershed, titled Ribbon.
I’m so grateful to be part of the arts community in Kitchener and I look forward to celebrating the artists and groups who are already working with the Willow River watershed to make art and culture. I can’t wait to create and share this labour of love with you. Follow along with its progress on Instagram at @RibbonZine
You can read more about my appointment on the City of Kitchener website here. Thank you to EVERYONE (and there are so many) who contributed to this. It's a dream come true.
